Mold in Crawlspace Led to Structural Damage

Crawlspaces can be tricky places!

This set of photos shows the impact of an ongoing moisture problem that led to excessive mold growth in this crawlspace. The growth was so severe, that it actually rotted the wood that supported the structures of the home. We worked hand in hand with a general contractor and structural engineer in this project to ensure safety for everyone involved.  

SERVPRO of Metro Pittsburgh East was responsible for setting up negative air flow, removal of all affected materials (this includes the floor joist!), through cleaning and decontamination of the crawlspace, and encapsulation.  All work was done in with about 3 feet of head room wearing full PPE in 90+ degree heat.
